Through training and life experiences, Josiah knows how complicated, painful, and lonely life can be. Josiah is especially excited and humbled that his work allows him to enter into difficult stories of people from different backgrounds, cultures, and contexts and walk with them towards healing.
He works with individuals, couples, and families—with special interest in anxiety, depression, intimacy, abuse, family of origin issues, relationships, and spiritual direction.
Josiah is originally from New York and has recently moved from Melbourne, Australia. Together, with his wife, Josiah enjoys experiencing new places, pairing up for volleyball, sharing coffee, reading (ideally on the beach), and training for a half-marathon. Josiah is also an avid basketball player, and has recently discovered the joys of cycling.

“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” — Helen Keller
As a counselor, Michael feels that his real title is Option Bringer. Clients that seek counseling often feel that there are little to no options in what they are struggling with. He believes that his role is to show you that there are options. Michael feels that listing his credentials isn’t enough. He believes that we all have our own trials and moments of great stress and grief that help shape our lives. You can read more of his story and discover a bit more about him through his blog www.dadsunite.weebly.com
Michael decided to take on a mid life career change and received his Master’s degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating in May 2016. He primarily works with adults in the areas of relationship counseling, blended family issues, foster parent issues, couples counseling, career concerns, depression and anxiety, singles counseling, PTSD, codependency, Christian counseling, domestic violence, and addictions.
In his spare time, Michael is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and a big enthusiast of all things Star Wars and Star Trek. Making time for self-care and his faith are very important to him and he enjoys traveling, dates with his wife, going to the movies, and writing.
